Awaken (Fated Saga #1)
Mind reading twins, Meghan and Colin Jacoby, have until the rising of the blue moon to save the life of a young man whose family is forced to flee through a magical portal to another world, without him. In the process, they unknowingly break a spell and awaken an ancient dark magic, which has an unfortunate side effect: now they are being hunted too!
In Book One…
Meghan and Colin Jacoby are looking forward to a typical summer vacation, which means their guardian (and uncle) will pull into the Cobbscott Campground just off the coast of Maine and park his travel trailer for three full months.
Normally, they’d never spend more than a few weeks in any one place, their uncle preferring to stay on the move. Why did he do this? The twins have never thought to ask.
Their only concern being that their friend Sebastien will be in Cobbscott as well... the one person who also happens to know their secret- the twins are telepathic and can read each other’s’ minds. A supernatural secret they’ve never even told their Guardian.
Within hours of arrival, Meghan and Colin are making plans to meet up with Sebastien but before they can, unexpected guests arrive. Guests with reserved campsites… reserved, but unused for years. And even more mysterious is that within hours, it’s clear these new visitors did not come alone! Something else has followed them. Something dangerous, and evil, with an eerie shadow that flies across the tree tops screeching out a warning that can have only one meaning: we know where you are…
Awaken is the first book in the Fated Fantasy Quest Adventure series of books. This book is about Meghan and Colin, who are twins getting ready to turn thirteen. But Meghan and Colin, while looking nothing alike, are very special. They can read each others thoughts and they can speak to each other through their minds. The twins are being raised by their Uncle, Arnon, and while they spend most of the year traveling, they spend every summer in Maine. They have not been there long when there are
Enjoyed this book. It was an easy read that kept the pages turning. The ending killed me because you are wondering what happens next!
The Fated Fantasy Saga book #1.Suitable for young adults.A story about two young teenagers discovering their inner powers and a people they didn't know they belonged to with some typical monsters called scratchers that sound like something out of a childrens' nightmare. There is some quite amusing writing in this and it was easy to pick up to read and follow along without having to overly think about it. There's some good hints about things to come and it does end on a cliffhanger so you won't be
I have to start off by saying that I couldn't finish this book. It was too much...all the dragging. I really tried but nope...This was a boring/stupid story. There were no real descriptions of the characters besides Meghan having red hair and a nose ring, Colin being short, and Sebastian being athletic. Were they identical twins? Her shorter than him? How old was Sebastian? The writing was eh! I didn't really get the feeling that Meghan was only 12/13 years old, not by the way she acted/things

Set at a camp in Maine during the summer, nearly 13-year-old twins Meghan and Colin Jacoby are eagerly awaiting their birthday while hanging out with an old friend and making a new friend (who happens to be from a family of Gypsies). It won't be a normal summer, however. Throw in some otherworldly creatures (that are very interested in the Gypsy family and the portal they use to travel), the twins' mind-speak with each other, plus a cast of characters that seem to know more about the twins'

A great young adult novel! I found this a wonderful short read about two siblings, twins, who are about to turn 13 and have their whole world turn upside down. The twins who have an unusual telepathic connection start the summer excited to see old friends while at their regular campsite and finally turn 13, what they don't expect is discovering magic is real and that they themselves have magic beyond their telepathy with each other. Struggling with this new reality they discover there are a lotAwaken is the first book in the Fated Fantasy Quest Adventure series of books.
