Narrative Concering Books Silhouette

Deep in the dark wood, seventeen-year-old Leira Sky mourns the death of her mother, with only the trees around her for company. But when those trees begin to change, alerted by the presence of a peculiar boy named Tristan Harper, Leira finds herself propelled into a strange new world—one that’s home to bizarre bark-covered creatures, invisible beasts, and a demented king who waits in his dark tower, curling his fingers at the sight of foreign blood. But Leira quickly realizes that it may be too late to undo what she’s done. Because now—they know she’s there. And when Leira’s fate is sealed, and her life begins to unravel, Leira and Tristan must race against time to see if love is enough to change her fate.

About a girl who has recently lost her mother. She goes to live with her aunt and, after a chance encounter with a boy named Tristan, she disappears into the woods and finds herself in a bazaar fantasy world.I honestly didn't know what to expect before reading this book, this being the authors first novel. But I was pleasantly surprised. It's a quick read, but thoroughly enjoyable. I found the main character relatable. And her love interest enchanting. But I most enjoyed the descriptive fantasy

A friend of mine was telling me how much she enjoyed this book so I decided to check it out for myself. And I'm so glad that I did! I'm actually surprised that more people haven't heard of it. It was so good!

Actual Rating: 3.5 starsI received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a review. I did like the novel. It kept my interest and I wanted to see what happened. It is a quick read, but I wanted more. I did feel like the end wrapped up super quick and could have been more thorough. The love story between the two main characters is sweet and avoids gloomy angst. For a super fun interview with Riley check out my blog review! storyrealmblog.wordpress.com

A clever concept with mediocre execution. It reads like a first draft full of egregious spelling errors, bad usage, dull dialogue, flat characters, odd phrasings and more YA tropes than you can shake a stick at. Will post more later.
