What beautiful illustrations!I'm not sure why I never read this as a child, and to be honest I don't think I ever even knew of this book until I was an adult. In truth, it saddens me. This is such a wonderful story about being who YOU want to be. I could see so many children relating to this. Just because you're born into something doesn't mean you have to follow that path.
