Narration Concering Books Sky on Fire (Monument 14 #2)

Trapped in a superstore by a series of escalating disasters, including a monster hailstorm and terrifying chemical weapons spill, brothers Dean and Alex learned how to survive and worked together with twelve other kids to build a refuge from the chaos. But then strangers appeared, destroying their fragile peace, and bringing both fresh disaster and a glimmer of hope.

Knowing that the chemical weapons saturating the air outside will turn him into a bloodthirsty rage monster, Dean decides to stay in the safety of the store with Astrid and some of the younger kids. But their sanctuary has already been breached once. . . .

Meanwhile, Alex, determined to find their parents, heads out into the darkness and devastation with Niko and some others in a recently repaired school bus. If they can get to Denver International Airport, they might be evacuated to safety. But the outside world is even worse than they expected. . . .

Judgment Containing Books Sky on Fire (Monument 14 #2)
I won this book and the first one from a blog giveaway!I finished the first book, Monument 14, in record time. It was fast paced, intense, and everything I wanted it to be. Because of that, I was very glad I had the second one at my fingertips to start reading right away.Sky on Fire takes place very shortly after Monument 14 ends. The two brothers have now been separated and by necessity, we get the POV broken up between the two of them so we can see what happens to each of the groups. We start

[Rating: 4.5 stars] They should really do half stars. We didnt die. Stay safeor get to Denver. The brothers have separated. Alex, Niko, Sahalia, Josie, and Brayden, along with Max, Ulysses, and Batiste, have taken their old school bus to Denver Intl Airport to try to get rescued, while Dean, Astrid, Chloe, and the twins Henry and Caroline stay behind in the store, knowing that they will become O monsters once exposed to the chemicals. While Dean and the others at the store have some gang

I am disappointed in the second book (not disappointed because it sucked or bad but it is shorter than the first one, the shortest in the trilogy... so not much have happened.)So the second started where the book one ended (immediately). It is told in two alternating POVs (Dean & Alex), with Dean telling the story on what is happening in the Greenway Mall and Alex telling on their journey to Denver. Dean counting the days until (view spoiler)[ their rescue (hide spoiler)]So the Os Dean,

This was a fantastic follow up to Monument 14! Full of non stop action and suspense. I read it all in one sitting!

A fantastic continuation of the story with a lot of action and emotion. As with book 1 the inclusion of both teenagers AND little kids is what makes me feel so invested in the characters, and a little bit teary a couple of times! I enjoyed the dual POV of Alex and Dean, two brothers that we're separated in book 1 and have their own battles to fight throughout the story, it's nice to have two very different voices but both gunning for the same outcome - basically to survive and rescue these kids.

At first I definately did not like it. It seemed a little too YA for my. Like - for 14 year old boys. The bus driving over bodies, etc. I wanted to put it out into the rain. Then it became more interesting. Why? Maybe the characters just grew on me. All kids. Five year old twins to 17 year olds. Blood types determine how the people react to toxins in the air and water. They all have to wear gas masks and multiple layers of clothing if they are going to be exposed to the outside air. I am reading

I was hoping the second book would be better, and thought that it would be for a couple of reasons.1. I had a feeling it would be Dual POV, and thought that would add to the story2. Since it wouldn't be the author's first book anymore, I thought her writing would improve. It is in fact, told in dual POV, but for me, it didn't help the story whatsoever. And the writing was sadly not any better than the first book.I thought most of the plot was boring and tedious, as it talked about a lot of every
