She falls in love with another man, a man who is her teacher and mentor. but she is afraid to acknowledge her feelings for fear of social accusations. But an incident drives to her to an awareness of the temporality of life and she indulges in an ambitious and sexual relationship with her mentor. She enters a world led by her lover where ambition becomes real and where she begins to face the disorder of the human world, of women particularly.

The only complaint I have from the book is the cover!!! It's a wonderful read otherwise from a mature female writer!!! The anonymousity was really a blending factor and the characters are quite believable and feel real!! Each event and scene has been depicted in a fluent manner except a few which is pardonable for a debut writer. The only reason I feel is we Indians don't read much in the genre. In a male dominated society such books hardly click in the market. However my best wishes are with theit was an amazing experience reading this novel by a young writer.the plot is unlike any other plot I have ever read till now. I have read novels like Anna Karenina, The Dark Room, Where Shall We GO This Summer were there is an air of helplessness and hopelessness over the existence of the women characters. despite the fact that they are not wrong they are compelled to lead a traumatic life just because of the dictates of patriarchy which runs in the social set up as culture and tradition.I am
A non feminist approach would have made a better read!!! Although still a good effort at that by the authoress!!! Full marks for brevity and clarity!!!
A loud attempt by the author to showcase intricacies in today's society. An out and out plot that will dwell you slowly from comfort to discomfort to comfort again. Such is the writing skill of Lady Diana!!!!Give it a read if you are brave and intellectual enough to understand what can truly be described as one of the best debuts in the literary world this year!!!
BOOK REVIEWThe novel effectively deconstruct the trendy cosmopolitan perception about love marriages being an egalitarian relationship between men and women. It is generally acceptable by a section of the so called educated and financially well-off people in our contemporary times that love marriages are a symbol of being progressive and modern. On the contrary love as an emotion is equally guided by the repressive and gender insensitive nature of our society. Though, it is equally significant
There is a fine line between writing fiction and expressing your inner desires. Having read numerous books on feminine topics I can clearly state that writers should fictionalize stories more.It is clearly evident from the title, theme and anonymity of the protagonist that the authoress clearly writes just to let go of her frustration!!!!Editing 2.5/5Language 4/5Plot 1.5/5Entertainment Value 2/5With such a good command over her language she should write on better plots in the future
what to say about this book!!! ITS ABOUT FOLLOWING YOUR HEART!!!every word is meaningful and it caters to the larger problems in the society faced by women. I am very touched by this novel specially because the sufferings and the helplessness faced by the woman protagonists seems to be mine.I agree with the author on every argument she has pitched, that our culture and tradition marginalise us on many points.there have been so many novels like Anna Karenina, movies like Murder, that tend to
