Interpretation Supposing Books Remember Me
How far must you go to find love? The Queen of Storytellers is back - with a triumphant tale of one woman's struggle over adversity.
In 1786 a fisherman's daughter from Cornwall called Mary Broad was sentenced to be hung for theft. But her sentence was commuted, and she was transported to Australia, one of the first convicts to arrive there.
How Mary escaped the harsh existence of the colony and found true love, and how she was captured and taken back to London in chains, only to be released after a trial where she was defended by no less than James Boswell, is one of the most gripping and moving stories of human endeavour (based on an amazing true story) you will ever read

It wasn't till I finished the book - and afterclearing out my #shelfie, that I realized I already own an old copy of it and was also actually planning to watch its movie. Remember me is a fiction based on the true story of Mary Broad who was convicted and deported to Australia. We follow her survival story and whether she ever makes it back home.It was such a griping story filled with lots of emotions. I fell in love with Mary and all the characters. I cried, I screamed, had tears of joy, and wasDespite this book being incredibly sad, I loved reading it. The plot was very good (even though its based on a true story) and I love how Lesley Pearse gave depth to all the characters and how well she described the prisons and Australia so well, to the point I almost felt I was there with Mary experiencing everything with her (I know that sounds incredibly cliche but its true). Its one of those books that are quite emotionally draining so I don't think I could bring myself to read it again. I
**4.5**So good! RTC
I read this book a couple of months ago. Now, I have a dreadful memory and normally forget about a book as soon as I've finished the next one, but this one has stuck in my mind as one to recommend to all. It is based on the true story of a woman convict called Mary, who is put on one of the first fleets to Australia. She has to go through so much to survive and even now I still feel moved by her plight. It puts my everyday problems into perspective that's for sure.
